NEW! Paradox Systems 07-08 Grille
ModsI have since returned to my original manufacturer and have asked them to take a OEM 07-08 grille and make a mesh version ensuring fitment using the OEM as a guideline. I have received the prototype grille back from them and need a test fitter to help with the fitment so that any mistakes can be corrected. The quality of this grille is far superior to the 04-06 one.

Final pricing will be $200 shipped

Here are the pics of the prototype 07 - 08 grille:

UpRev Cipher DDS
ModsThere has been some banter back and forth with the different OBD-II monitoring packages on Maxima.Org. Well, the following is the information on UpRev’s Cipher – Diagnostic & Data System. Some of the information is going to come straight from their website (http://www.uprev.com). Most of the information, screenshots, and graphs will come from my own system.

I contacted UpRev back in the late winter/ early Spring once reading some threads on a Nissan Titan forum. I was interested in some of the data I could capture with their system. So, we agreed to do a beta test on my vehicle. This will be catered to 2k2-2k3 Maximas (and I-35’s). 2k4 and up will have even more benefits from this software system.

CIPHER™ - Diagnostic & Data System

“Cipher is the diagnostic and data solution for the Nissan/Infiniti professional and enthusiast. Originally conceived for the 350Z and G35 after-market, Cipher decodes the Nissan/Infiniti specific On-Board protocol. Unlike OBD-II, which is limited to EPA requirements, Cipher is able to access sensors and trouble codes that are otherwise invisible. Whether for service or performance tuning, Cipher lets you know exactly what your vehicle is doing. Using UpRev's proprietary cable interface and software, your USB equipped notebook becomes a cutting-edge service and data tool for today’s Nissan/Infiniti vehicles.”

Key Features:
• Diagnostic Codes - Retrieve and clear the DTCs from each control module.
• Real-time sensor display - Monitor the condition of sensors and outputs.
• Data-logging - Record and save data; sample rates of 20/sec with 16 sensors. Sample rate varies with the type and number of sensor logged.
• Analytical charting - Review saved data with our integrated graphical utility or export the data to as a csv file and create your personal charts.
• Configurable Target Ignition Timing +/- 2 degrees .
• Configurable Target Idle RPM + 250 RPM .
• Clear ECU learned fuel settings.
• Cylinder Power Test - Provides troubleshooting capability by turning individual cylinders on and off as needed.
• Fuel Pressure Release - Discharges the pressure in the fuel line. This increases the safety of fuel line work by releasing built up pressure and limiting the potential for fuel spray.
• Fuel Injection Test - Test and troubleshoot the injection system by manually controlling the injector pulse length while monitoring timing.
• Coolant Test - Test and troubleshoot engine operation issues by forcing the ECU to read false values for the coolant temperature sensor.

First Test: 2009 Nissan Maxima
News

Thus the mission for the new, seventh-gen car: Reinject the DNA from the cult-building "four-door sports car" first sold for 1989. In fact, this time around Nissan raised the bar even higher, aiming to make the Maxima nothing less than "the best-performing front-drive car in the world.". Nissan's handling target, the car that company engineers compared with the Maxima during development laps around the Nurburgring Nordschleife: the Porsche GT3.

Engine output climbs significantly for 2009. Remapped for premium fuel, the ubiquitous 3.5-liter V-6 sports a new intake, reshaped pistons, and a less-restrictive exhaust, among other refinements-helping it deliver 290 horsepower (versus 255 for the 2008 model) and 261 pound-feet of torque (up 9 pound-feet). Yet estimated fuel economy actually improves, to 19/26 city/highway mpg (compared with 19/25 for the outgoing car). An electronically controlled CVT with sport and manual modes is the only transmission offering; paddle shifters are optional.

Nissan engineers took special care to eliminate torque steer (i.e., equal-length, equal-angle half shafts), and it shows. Only when applying maximum power in the tightest corners does the wheel tug in your hands. The suspension rides comfortably but can stir up 0.85 g of grip on demand. Even judging only by seat-of-the-pants impressions, though, it'd be a stretch to say this is the best-handling front-drive car we've ever driven. Perhaps those 19-inch summer Bridgestones make all the difference?

2009 Nissan Maxima Official Pictures
News

The all-new 2009 Maxima will be offered as two well-equipped models, Maxima 3.5 S and Maxima 3.5 SV, and is scheduled to arrive at Nissan dealers nationwide in early summer 2008. The 2009 Maxima’s 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 is now rated at 290 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque (estimated), increases of 35 horsepower and 9 lb-ft of torque over the 2008 Maxima.

Available paddle shifters, mounted on the steering column, allow manual transmission shift changes for varying scenarios – such as winding roads – while the driver’s hands remain on the wheel for optimum vehicle control.

Every 2009 Maxima offers standard 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and V-rated P245/45R18 all-season tires. The Maxima 3.5 SV model with Sport Package features 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with P245/40R19 all-season or summer performance tires.
