IonicDynamics Bodykit Install

Category:

NOTE: Use General Judgment (a.k.a Common Sense) when doing mods like these this is just what I did to install this kit on my car I?m just offering some help I?m not liable for you drilling a hole in your car or messing something up OK!

Two-Piece Rear Valance:
TOOLS: Cordless power drill, Phillips head bit, 3/4? long sheet metal screws (about 10 of them), masking tape, floor jack, good lighting, rug or carpet to lay on, patience 0(Please take your time in doing this, while I had my car up and wheels off I rotated my wheels and cleaned each of my rims thoroughly inside and out). Also clean the area where the kit will go real good especially after you take off the plastic in the fender wells it is real dirty from being on there from the factory, plus you will never be able to clean this spot again.

1. Jack up your car using a floor jack (secure it will jack stands, you never know) and remove your wheel, you will see in the next steps why I removed my rim to be able to get under the car and remove the screws in the fender and screw in from under the car).

2. Remove the screws that hold the plastic covers on the sides of the car (where your mudflaps are or if you have mudflaps remove them then the remove the plastic cover), toss the plastic cover in the trash.

3. Line up the skirt w/the bottom factory hole and use the same screw that came out of that hole to fasten the skirt with.

4. After you screw that screw in it will be holding the front up.

5. Use some masking tape(or prop it up w/bricks, or what ever you can find) to hold up the rest of the skirt to the car and line it up.

6. Screw in from the bottom some of the self tapping screws.
NOTE: it is easy to screw into plastic, but on the metal you might want to drill a pilot hole before you fasten it to the fender.

7. Make sure all of your screws are as tight as you want them and move or push on the skirts to make sure they are tight.

8. Remove the tape from the skirts.

9. Put your wheel back on then lower you car and repeat for the other side.

I installed the rear skirts in about 1 hour.

Side Skirts:
TOOLS: Cordless power drill, Phillips head bit, metal drill bits, double sided sticky tape, alcohol, rag, floor jack, good lighting, rug or carpet to lay on, patience (Please take your time in doing this, while I had my car up and wheels off I rotated my wheels and cleaned each of my rims thoroughly inside and out). Also clean the area where the kit will go real good especially after you take off the plastic in the fender wells it is real dirty from being on there from the factory, plus you will never be able to clean this spot again.

1. Jack up your car using a floor jack (secure it will jack stands, you never know) and remove your wheels front and rear, you will see in the next steps why I removed them to be able to remove the screws and drill into the fender).

2. Remove the screws that hold the plastic covers on the sides of the car (where your mudflaps are or if you have mudflaps remove them then the remove the plastic cover), toss the plastic cover in the trash.

3. Clean the inside of the skirt w/alcohol and the door sill area where the skirt will go, in the door sill area put some 2? strips of double sided tape about every 6? but do not remove the tape covering.

4. Prop up the skirt along the side of the car w/bricks, blocks or whatever you can find to hold it up while you measure for the screw holes. Line up the skirt w/the bottom factory hole and use the same screw that came out of that hole to fasten the skirt with use the fender plastic flap piece as a marker for where to dill your hole and you should hit right into the factory hole where the screw came out of and then use that same screw to fasten the skirt in the front.

5. For the rear you will have to use your own judgment on where to drill into the skirt and drill into in the metal fender.

6. Once you get your holes drilled for the front and rear then remove the tape covering and then line up the skirt and then fasten the front and rear to the fender.

7. Make sure all of your screws are as tight as you want them and move or push on the skirts to make sure they are tight.

8. Go along the skirt and press on it so the double sided tape will stick especially right in the middle where the door dividers are.

9. Put your wheels back on then lower you car and repeat for the other side.

Pat yourself on the back because there is nothing like do-it-yourself mods!
(And if you had help thank them but you will enjoy your Maxima looking better than ever!)

I installed the side skirts in about 2 hours.

If you have a neon kit the side skirts will cover them up but not all the way.

I understand now what it means to have a full body kit!
