I had pre-production Cattman springs installed today and I wanted to share my opinions and pictures with everyone. The springs lower the car by about 1.6-1.7 inches in the front, depending on how much they "settle" and about .6-.7 inches in the rear. We all know Eibach lowers the car by a a little more, so the question is, why not get Eibach.
Basing our review from factory suspension, this Pedders system uses a slightly shorter and more aggressive spring to allow the car the stance and also the stiffness it needs to handle the decreased ground clearance. The strut body is of gloss black coloring with the Pedders name stamp on each assembly. They also incorporate all the necessary brake line connections to secure the lines to the assembly. As you may have noticed these are labeled Pedders Comfort Gas Suspension, named after its Australian designers Pedders Performance.
Cattman will have available a rear sway bar that fits BOTH 04 and 05 models. Cattman will have it available about 2-3 weeks for about $150, which includes the bar and urethane bushings. Its a "must have" for any 6th Gen Maxima. It will be the only one that I know of for both the 04 AND the 05 Maxima.
"Stabilizer bars are part of a car's suspension system. They are sometimes also called anti-sway bars or anti-roll bars. Their purpose in life is to try to keep the car's body from "rolling" in a sharp turn." -Howstuffworks.com
The new Cattman header/downpipe sets for the VQ30DE Maxima/I30 are ready and should arrive at our warehouse on Thursday. Although they will fit all VQ30DE engines, the O2 ports are set up for all 1995-1998 Maximas/I30s, and 1999-2001 Federal emissions. They do not have the O2 sensor ports for the 1999-2001 Maximas/I30s with CA/NLEV emissions (but the next batch will include these elements).
A Message from one of our sponsors "Cattman Performance", this message includes information on how this potential intake system can be manufactured with the right amount of user participation. If you have a 2004 Maxima and would like to see how you can get something like this done, please join us inside.
I'm very pleased to report that the new Cattman-Progress coilover system
will be available on April 23.
I haven't said anything about this project because I wanted to do the testing first, but I'm quite pleased to report that I've put a beautiful set of prototype headers on my 97 Maxima and they make some pretty good power. And they sound incredible!
Here's the basic information...
Cattman Performance is happy to release our third newly-developed Maxima/I30 part this month. Our new 1995-1999 all-stainless catback exhaust follows our new FSTB and RSB parts. I'll save a few people some time by pointing out that if you prefer really loud, raspy exhausts that get even worse with a performance Y-pipe, read no further, you won't like this one.
